Things I've Used Up #1 | Empties

I really enjoy reading/watching about products people have used and what their opinions are of them since they've actually taken the time and effort to use them completely.  I noticed a few products I have finished recently and thought it would be fun to make a post giving my thoughts on them before I threw them out.

It always takes me ages and ages to finish a shower gel since I tend to switch them up quite often.  LUSH's Happy Hippy has definitely been a top favorite because the pink grapefruit smell is absolutely divine.  It's a wonderful shower gel to wake you up in the morning and make your skin smell clean and refreshed.  Will definitely repurchase once I finish LUSH's the Olive Branch shower gel that I'm  currently working on and loving might I add.

Yes To Cucumbers is my favorite of the Yes To scents they have. I've tried some of the others, but always go back to the cucumber make up remover wipes.  They're not very moist so if you're looking for one with more wetness you might not enjoy these as much. They're nice because they're not too potent for my sensitive eyes and are easy enough to get all of my make up off with a few swipes.

The Covergirl TruBlend foundation was nice on days where my skin was quite clear, because it wasn't full coverage, but it was enough coverage to even out my skin tone.  It's very light and doesn't feel too heavy on the skin.  One plus was that the bottle has a pump which is always a bonus in my book.  With no pump I find myself wasting more product from having to pour out foundation.  All in all it was a nice light coverage foundation, but I don't think I'll buy it again.  Just because I've found a few other drug store foundations I like better.

I wrote about OPI's Nail Envy in my recent favorites post because it has done wonders on my nails.  It made my nails feel much so much stronger within only a few days.  It's definitely something I'm going to repurchase, but I think I'm going to give the Nail Envy for soft and thin nails a try instead.

Words can't describe how absolutely lovely LUSH's R&B hair moisturizer is.  I love putting it through my ends when it's damp and you really only need the tiniest pinch! It's such a lovely hair product and lasts forever.  It's also really nice to use on days when you're straightening or curling your hair.  So moisturizing and smells amazing!

I'm not really into higher end mascaras because I'm fine with drug store mascaras.  However,  I wanted to try Make Up For Ever's Smoky Lash mascara because I had heard a lot of great things about it.  I thought it was quite nice and gave a bit of volume, but didn't think it was anything too special.  Not something I'd repurchase, but all in all a good product.

It's always such an achievement when you've finished something isn't it?  Have you tried any of these products before, and what did you think of them? x

Nail Polish for Spring | Favorites

Essie Cascade Cool, Essie Cute As A Button, Wet N' Wild Undercover, OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, Butter London Knackered

Cascade Cool is a really lovely cool toned light pink because it's not too in your face like hot pinks and it's not too pale like Essie's Fiji which can look a bit odd on my light skin tone.

I tend to wear a lot of orange/coral lips and I think having matching nails is always a cute and glassy look which is why I was so drawn to Cute As A Button. Plus, the name is just too cute to pass up.  I thought it was a perfect color for Spring because it's quite bright, but not too in your face like a neon.

When I first bought Undercover I wasn't sure if I'd like it really, but once I put it on for the first time I was pleasantly surprised. My mom even complimented me on it, and she never likes any of my nail polishes.

My favorite of the five has to be Lucky Lucky Lavender.  It's my go to nail polish whenever I don't know what to wear because it's not too pink and not too purple it's just right in between.  I'm always wearing this polish and without fail I always get compliments on it.

Knackered has to be one of the prettiest polishes I own with all of it's blue, purple and green hues. It's perfect for days when you want to feel like a mermaid.

Mini Haul (Again)

Went shopping the other day with a list of beauty products I've been wanting and didn't find a single thing I was looking for! Knowing me it wasn't too hard to find some other things I like.
I needed an brown eyeliner so I grabbed Rimmel's Scandaleyes eyeliner in brown since it was under four dollars.  It's really soft and easy to put on your tight line and water line.
I usually always buy the quad eyeshadows from Wet N Wild since their prices and pigmentation are so reasonably great.   I thought this time I'd get the eight shadow palette in Petal Pusher since I've always wanted a lovely purple eye look.

Left: Revlon Colorstay in Vintage Rose Right: Revlon's Bewitched
Both colors are really quite lovely and both go on opaque with no more than two coats. Bewitched is my favorite and looks very feminine and may I say very sexy on the nails. Vintage Rose is also very lovely and a lovely natural every day color.

Things I'm Loving This Week | Favorites

Lee Stafford's Treatment Hair That Never Grows Past a Certain Length- AKA my hair... My hair has gone to hell and back being dyed, henna'd, bleached, straightened and curled.  This treatment is by far the best hair mask I have ever tried.  Definitely Holy Grail worthy.  You shampoo your hair then put the mask in and leave it in your hair about 5 minutes (I usually spend that time scrubbing my body and washing it so I don't get bored standing in the shower waiting.) then you wash it out and condition. The second I put it through my hair I feel it instantly make my hair soft.  I am in so in love with how this makes my hair feel. It literally feels like silk/heaven.

No Drought- I have had a hard time finding a dry shampoo that makes my hair look clean without looking or feeling greasier than it was.  Every dry shampoo I've tried before made my hair feel and look even dirtier than before, which defeats the purpose, right? No Drought is without a doubt the best dry shampoo ever.  It feels great and makes my hair look even better.

Shine So Bright- A split end treatment that you can put in your purse for on the go use. It mends your splits ends and makes your hair feel and look healthier.  I especially love putting it in my ends after I curl or straighten my hair when the ends get burnt and frizzy.  It mends them and keeps them smoothed together.

ChloĆ©- The loveliest perfume ever. It's so feminine, light and perfect for your every day perfume. I love having it as a roller ball so on the go purse use.  Although the full bottle is quite lovely so I may have to go out and buy that too!

Nail Envy-  My nails used to be short thin stubs before I started using OPI's Nail Envy.  I used to use it on and off and when I did I could tell my nails were much stronger than before.  I've been using for about a week and a half now consistently and my nails are now past my fingers and hard.  I love the way long nails look. They look so mature and very feminine to me.

Mini Haul

From left to right: MAC's Kiss & Don't Tell (Archie's Girls collection), MAC's Daddy's Little Girl (Archie's Girls collection) and MAC's Plumful. (All from MAC)

Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating foundation primer- I have somewhat dry skin and whenever I put foundation on it can sometimes look quite dry and flaky. A while ago I asked one of the girls at Sephora what she would suggested and she told me about this primer and gave me a sample. I ended up really enjoying it and thought it made a difference how my foundation applied. I liked the sample so much I finally just had to bite the bullet and buy the full size for $40.

Josie Maran Instant Self- Adjusting foundation- This foundation is meant to adjust to your skin tone. It comes out a liquid white and you're meant to apply it with a brush. I was told not to apply it with your fingers or else it'll adjust to your finger's skin tone once it's on the face.

White Barn candle in Pineapple Orchid- Smells absolutely divine and definitely a must have for the warmer weather seasons. My favorite candles are the Spring and Summer candles that B&BW come out with every year. I'm more into the fruity scents than the vanilla and cinnamon scents in the fall/winter. This candle is described as a "Lightly fruity-floral blend of pineapple and fragrant orchid that adds a delicate brightness to your home."
